By shahdan • May 24, 2015
This is a childhood favourite! The sweetness of the dates fried in butter with the lightly salted runny egg yolks is simply irresistible! This Fried Eggs with Dates is a must try.
- 6 medium eggs - بيض
- 12 small dried dates (deseeded) - تمر
- 3 teaspoon butter - زبدة
- 1 pinch salt and pepper (to taste) - ملح و فلفل
Step by step
- In a pan, melt the butter and add the sliced dried dates, then stir for a minute or less.(Make sure not to burn the dates, they will still cook more with the egg and you want them nice and soft.)
- Carefully break the eggs and let them fry with the dates on a low heat until the egg white is set and the yolk is still runny. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve with your favourite bread!
